Located on the edge of a village about 15mins from St. Malo, Dinan and the coast you will find this beautiful character hotel complex. As soon as you enter the front courtyard you feel the charm of yesteryear and history oozing from its walls. With its origins in the 17th century, where at the time it was an abbey, the property was lovingly restored between 1979 and 1986 by the current owners. Now the complex offers 3200m ², with 70 bedrooms, a front reception hall, two large dining rooms, three function rooms, full kitchens, pool and parking. The whole property is divided into two distinct parts, with the original abbey and the "extension" dating from 1986. In the older part, that is to say, the abbey and its enclosure, you have the reception hall, large lounge with period fireplace, the lounge bar, a large dining room with fireplace solid, which opens onto a vast veranda with stunning views of the lake. From here, via a hidden door you have access to kitchens and cellars for the utility part of the business. The rest of the building and the west wing is occupied by the 36 bedrooms; all with private bathroom and most with bath the others with shower. At the rear of the abbey is a second courtyard where you find a lawn area and the swimming pool, and then a stone barn that is part of the courtyard wall, in which are another 9 bedrooms. In 1986 the hotel was enlarged to pretty well double its capacity with another 25 rooms, the architecture is more of a “motel” style, but does not interfere with the look of the abbey. The rooms all have private bathrooms and a small patio each. In general the whole property is in good order, just the rooms need to be brought up to date. Also in the complex is a stone house with two offices, lounge / kitchen and three bedrooms upstairs. The bedrooms are in reasonable condition, but the ground floor needs modernisation. The property is built on 8 acres of private gardens, bordered by the lake that separates it from the popular 18 hole golf course nearby.
