Details
The house has evolved from mediaeval beginnings and was rebuilt in French style by previous owners, now with an 'American' style open plan kitchen. The top floor is entered from the street and consists of a large entrance hall with a toilet & basin at one end. There is a large living room with stone inset fireplace, and open kitchen forming an L shape. There are two French windows opening onto the semi-circular double glazed balcony, where the current owners have a 4m dining table with 12 chairs. The master bedroom with ensuite bathroom is also on this floor with French windows onto the balcony.
There is an oak staircase from the hall down to the second floor where there are three large double bedrooms all with lovely views. The middle bedroom has French windows onto a small open balcony. This floor has a large bathroom with toilet, basin and shower cubicle.
There are wide stone steps to the third floor which is currently used as a garden kitchen/laundry/storage and houses the oil central heating boiler. A few steps take you to the garden door. There is a pretty garden with fruit trees and shrubs and natural rock garden and a sloping garden with nut trees, oaks and also a water source. There is a short walk to prehistoric caves below the old castle, the lavoire and picnic area.
The village has a Sunday morning market and is 5km from Montaigu de Quercy which has doctors, banks, shops etc and a Saturday market.
